The orange is, without a doubt, one of the tastiest and healthiest fruits out there. Among its benefits is its ability to strengthen the immune system, due to its high vitamin C content.
It also helps fight flu and prevent infections; it is a great ally in treating anemia, as it promotes iron absorption (its consumption is recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding).
HOW TO PEEL AN ORANGE STEP BY STEP
Now, there is a controversy when it comes to peeling oranges. Do you want to peel oranges like a farmer, properly and without getting dirty? Follow these steps!In the next steps we will recommend how to peel an orange in the most traditional way, as we farmers do: with a knife and orange in hand, we will also show you how to eat the queen fruit of Valencia ;)
STEP 1. We remove the top and bottom parts, and make some indentations, without going too deep (otherwise when removing the skin we remove it with a segment)
STEP 2. Almost all of the white peel of the orange remains on the rind, leaving the fruit clean and edible. Use the knife to scrape away any bits of white peel that remain on the surface.
STEP 3. We put it in by the bottom, make a vertical cut and then put the piece with its juice and all the flesh in the mouth. If we eat it segment by segment we do not fully enjoy the flavor and the juice that the orange gives off.
STEP 4. Enjoy your knife-peeled orange!
