Good morning.
These days, we're seeing foreign oranges at what seem like laughable prices. They come from very far away, many from Egypt. And of course, competing with that is almost impossible if you do things thoughtfully and with care. Here in Valencia, and with fellow farmers across Spain, we work as our grandparents did.
We take care of the soil, respect the rhythms, and pay fairly those who work hard on the farm. Meanwhile, some of our oranges go unsold. That's the truth you don't see on the label.

We work in an artisanal way. The hands that care for the trees are the same ones that learned from their parents and grandparents. That knowledge cannot be contained in a machine.
We choose what is at its best, we respect the land and use techniques that protect the soil and water. There are no strange shortcuts or factory rushes here. There are seasons, there is patience and there is craftsmanship.
What do you gain from all this? You gain quality. An orange that smells like an orange and tastes like the oranges of yesteryear. You gain sustainability. Fewer kilometers, less waste, and living farms that provide shade, pollen, and life. You gain fairness. Your money stays in the local fields, supports families, maintains irrigation ditches, terraces, and villages.
I'm not asking you to choose my oranges because they're pretty, even though they look pretty cool on their own, I'm asking you to choose them for what they represent.

There's something we like to repeat in the crew. Every purchase is a vote. When you choose the cheapest option, you're saying yes to that model. When you choose authenticity, you're saying yes to a way of life in the countryside that can still have a future. You decide what you feed.
If you feel like supporting local and eating seasonally, we're here for you. Go to the website, choose your box, and tomorrow morning we'll go out and harvest it for you. If you don't need fruit today, you'd help us a lot by forwarding this email to someone who appreciates good quality. Thank you for being on the other side and for valuing our work. Your trust is evident even in the orange peel 🍊

A big hug from Valencia. We're still in the field, with our hands in the earth and our minds on what's important. See you next week
