Good morning.

We are truly facing an unprecedented situation here in Valencia.

We haven't seen rain of this magnitude in years. According to the media, it has rained in one day what should have fallen in a month.

This storm... This meteorological phenomenon DANA, also known as a cold drop, has been too strong this time.

In the countryside, we know what it's like to have to start from scratch, we know about resilience, and that's the word we'll have to cling to.

You can imagine that we expect great losses. Today we are assessing the damage, communicating with every fellow farmer to see how everything is.

My orange groves currently look like this:

This excessive amount of rain affects the trees. On the one hand, the flooding of the soil causes root asphyxia. It's not visible now, but over time the tree starts to turn yellow and can eventually die.

And on the other hand, the fruit that has touched the water spoils; there's no remedy for that. And the fruit that hasn't touched the water, if not managed correctly, the humidity will rise and cause the fruit to rot.

There are fields that are even worse and with water up to half the trees.

We feel privileged because there are people who are truly going through a very difficult time. And what happens here, in the fields and crops, may be serious, but compared to losing a loved one, it's just an anecdote.

From here, we send strength to every family 🙏🏼.

Before I sign off, I want to thank, on my behalf and on behalf of all my fellow farmers, our customers. To each and every person who took the time to write us an email or WhatsApp message. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

With the conditions of the roads and the rising rivers, we have had to suspend all our shipments. These are circumstances beyond our control. But we will continue working so that in the coming days we can get back on track.

Shipments will resume on Monday, if the weather permits. On Monday, we will also have to see if some of the more delicate products can return to the website. They are not available right now because we haven't been able to harvest them these past few days. There is a lot of work ahead.

Thank you very much for accompanying us during these hard times.

If there's one thing the countryside teaches us, it's that everything always reblooms.

Until next week,
