Good morning!

Good news: We now have honey available on our website! It's 100% artisanal, made with nectar from the mountain flowers of León. There, Raquel assists the best little creatures in the world: bees, in their process.

🍯 Honey, only pure and artisanal honey... And the best part? It's entirely produced in Spain. These bees do their work in a small village, free from pollution, with water of the purest quality. You won't find this in any supermarket. And not only for its quality, but also for its limited production.

It's organic without certification, which is why we call it artisanal. We have our own opinions on what obtaining organic certification has become, but I'll tell you about that in another newsletter. Today's is about bees, flowers, sweetness, and quality.

I know many people are afraid of bees, especially due to allergies, but without bees, our world could not function as it does. It's that simple.

They are superheroes because they play a fundamental role in the cultivation of our food. With their silent work and alongside other insects, they ensure that fruits and vegetables transform from a flower into a fruit. That's no small feat, is it? Look at what Raquel says:

Bees are responsible for pollination. Every plant needs to be pollinated by bees or some other pollinating insect to reproduce. For example, speaking of citrus fruits, if bees don't pollinate them, the tree won't continue to grow.

Look at Raquel, our beekeeper colleague, proud of one of her frames full of pure honey:

Returning to the work of bees, if we didn't have the little bees, we wouldn't be able to bring oranges to your table. In their search for nectar, they transfer pollen from flower to flower, because pollen is not the same as nectar. Raquel explains this very well in the article that we will soon upload to our blog.

I had the opportunity to chat with Raquel when she and her husband decided to join the Campos del Abuelo family, and wow... It was an incredible conversation.

That's why today I bring you a small excerpt of what we discussed. In my opinion, as I was saying, bees are the best creatures in the world, and I would never harm one. In fact, on the contrary, I know that as a farmer, I do my part so that they can continue to do their work.

And it's not that I'm a bug fanatic; there are some that I find unbearable and are the opposite of bees. I've told you about them, my enemies: one is the Mediterranean fruit fly, and the other is the thrip.

Nature never ceases to amaze me. It truly is a perfect system, and within it, pollination is the lifeblood of the countryside. In the case of our orange groves, if there are no bees, no matter how healthy the tree is, there will be no oranges. Neither large nor small. They simply won't bear fruit. Did you know this?

But the benefit is not just that there is fruit. It's that, when there is natural pollination like the one bees do, the fruits are larger, more uniform, more flavorful. Bees not only ensure quantity, but also quality.

In every buzz you hear in the countryside, there is enormous work that improves our harvests and brings them forward. 🌼🐝

Nowadays, there is much talk about the importance of caring for the planet, consuming consciously, and returning to nature. But what is rarely mentioned is that caring for bees is one of those small but significant steps that make a difference.

That's why we work here to ensure that the fields are alive inside and out. With floral hedges around, with native flora, without treatments that obscure biodiversity, so that bees not only pass the time, but also stay. And stay happily.

In spring, when the orange trees bloom, a phenomenon occurs that fills our souls: the field is filled with that sweet, intoxicating scent of the white orange blossom flowers... and among those aromas, there is a constant, soft, and rhythmic sound. It is the buzzing of the bees.

I wish you could visit us here at that time one day, so you can experience it yourself.

Today, we can say that the products we have in our online store exist because we, the farmers, are there to bring them forward, but also thanks to the tireless work of bees and pollinating insects.

I'll say goodbye until next Monday, have a great day. Don't forget to reserve your harvest.

I hope you have a great start to the week.

Remember, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to write to me.

A big hug!
