Hey there, {nombre}!

Is there anything sadder than cutting open a perfect avocado, only for it to look like it's been through an emotional roller coaster the next day? That dull brown color isn't drama, it's oxidation...

But don't worry, here's how to store a cut avocado so you don't have to throw it away.

When you cut an avocado, it comes into contact with the air and the oxidation process begins. The key is to minimize this contact. The classic trick? A few drops of lemon on the exposed surface and wrap it tightly with plastic wrap, leaving no gaps. No "just wrap it loosely" allowed.

Another golden tip: if you've only used one half, leave the pit in the part you're storing. This helps reduce the exposed surface. And if you want to go a step further, store it in an airtight container with a little onion at the bottom. It won't touch the avocado, but it will help slow down oxidation. Yes, onions are good for more than just making you cry.

Because taking care of the product also means respecting it until the very end. At Campos Del Abuelo, we believe that every avocado deserves to end up on toast, in a salad, or in guacamole... but never in the trash due to lack of care. And now that you know the secret, the next time you open one, do it without fear and with a spoon in hand. 😉

I'll say goodbye now to get back to my work here, tending to the orchard and to you, of course.

A big hug and thank you for supporting Spanish agriculture. We'll read each other next week.
