Hello, hello!

Today I'm writing with great excitement. Our Valencia oranges and red kiwis are now on the website, fresh from the tree and ready to travel to your home.

Let me tell you why the best oranges in the world are grown in these lands. The key is simple yet powerful. Our location, the soil we tread, and the climate that embraces us. Together they create Mediterranean magic, meant for drinking and biting into.

Our location is a gift. Here on the coast of Valencia, the sea moderates the extremes. We don't suffer long freezes or scorching heat. The Mediterranean breezes act as a soft blanket in winter and a fan in summer. This allows the tree to live peacefully and the fruit to develop calmly.

The climate provides the soundtrack. Rain mainly in autumn and spring, just when the plant needs it, and dry summers that concentrate the sugar without watering down the flavor. This contrast of warm days and cooler nights helps the orange gain color and character. Think of a well-regulated oven, neither too hot nor too cold, perfect for the cake to rise ☀️

The soil is the foundation of everything. These are alluvial lands from the Turia and Júcar rivers, with a very balanced mix that drains without drowning and retains just enough to nourish. Soil with good lime and good nutrients, happy roots and vigorous trees. When the soil is just right, the canopy celebrates.

We've managed water wisely for centuries. Here we still respect the irrigation ditches inherited from our great-grandparents, and we combine them with adjusted irrigation to avoid wasting a single drop. It's a culture of water. My great-grandfather used to read the ditch like a weather report and was more accurate than any weatherman 💧

And now for the tasty part. We pick when sweetness and acidity go hand in hand. If you want it in numbers, when the sugar is vibrant and the acidity is still refreshing, that's the Valencia sweet spot. This balance is what makes one segment ask for another, and keeps the juice from being cloyingly sweet. No mystery, just lots of observation and tasting from the tree.

Let me properly introduce myself. I am Eduardo, founder of Campos del Abuelo and a Valencian orange farmer. My family has been cultivating this land since the beginning of the twentieth century. I learned to recognize the scent of orange blossoms before I learned to ride a bike, and here we continue, working the land by hand, just as our ancestors did.

Our process is simple and unique in Spain. Every morning we check your orders, go into the orange groves, hand-pick each orange, and place it directly into the box. No waiting, no endless cold storage. That's why when you open the box, it smells of tree and field. And that's why they last and taste as they should.

It's not just me saying it. These oranges have received international recognition for generations. They have traveled across half of Europe and now arrive at your kitchen without detours. We are a group of farmers from all over Spain defending our work and our fruits, so that you can enjoy honest produce at the right price.

If you want to try the season at its best, you can now go to our website and order your oranges. You customize them to your liking, we harvest at dawn and send them to you in less than 24 hours. Whether eaten whole or juiced, it tastes like real Valencia. I'd like to mention that we will not be working this Thursday, so we will be taking orders from Monday to Wednesday this week.

Thank you for being on the other side and for supporting our agriculture. Have a wonderful week full of delicious segments.

A big hug,

Agricultor
