Healthy tangerine gummies

This time we bring you a very simple tutorial to eat our fruit in a different way.

It is not always easy, especially for children, to eat fruit regularly, so this can be an attractive way to introduce them to fruit. We always recommend that you eat fresh and seasonal fruit but we are aware that this is more difficult than it seems.

We hope you like the recipe, so let's get started.

Easy tangerine jelly beans

Tangerine jelly beans

Ingredients

250 ml of sweet mandarin juice (in this case we will use the Orri variety , since this way we avoid using sugar or sweeteners)

8 g agar agar (you can also use 10g neutral gelatin)

Step by Step

1. Squeeze the tangerines:

Juice as usual until you get 250 ml of juice and strain it.

2. Heat the juice:

Put the juice on the fire. When it starts to heat, add the agar agar and let it boil for approximately 4 minutes, stirring the mixture. If you use gelatin you should add it when it is hot but without boiling.

In this step, test the sweetness, if you see that it is a little lacking for your taste you can add normal sugar or sweetener. In our case it was not necessary.

3º Let it cool.

To get the roll-shaped jelly beans, you must create a thin layer of approximately 1/2 cm on a tray covered with transparent film or baking paper and put it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Extra:

If you have leftover mixture, you can use silicone molds (like those for chocolates) and make classic jelly beans. You just have to fill the molds and let them cool in the refrigerator overnight.

4º Roll the strips

Make cuts of approximately one centimeter and roll it up. Do the same with the rest of the strips. Keep them in the refrigerator.

OPTIONAL: Add sweetener or sugar on top of the gummies if they were a little plain.

And that's all. You can now enjoy your sweets in a healthy version and remember that you can also make them with gelatin. Also try using orange juice, they are delicious.
